IFJ mourns the tragic deaths of photo journalist in Bangladesh



The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the global organisation of journalists representing over 500,000 journalists worldwide, expressed sadness over the death of Md Mujibur Rahman, 35, a photo journalist of local daily Dainik Ajker Khabar who was killed in a road accident at Churkhai on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on the 28th of December.



According to reports received by the IFJ, Mujibur Rahman was fatally injured when his motorcycle was knocked down by a Dhaka-bound bus coming from the opposite direction. He died on the spot. The bus sped away.



Mujibur Rahman was also the organising secretary of Mymensingh unit of Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association (BPJA). He is survived by his wife and two sons.



“The IFJ is deeply saddened by the death of Mujibur Rahman and we send our deepest condolences to his family,” said IFJ President Christopher Warren.
